Looking for pure Android? Here’s a fun ROM to play with, JellyBam ROM, a mix of CM10, ParanoidAndroid, and AOKP ROMs. Basically, it’s a mixed pot of all those three ROMs built on Androi 4.1.2 sources.

Now, I wish there is Android 4.2.1 version of this (it should be coming soon) but Android 4.1.2 JellyBam is pretty stable and solid for those of you who want to get off the Samsung TouchWiz bandwagon and try something new.

Remember though, you will lose many Samsung features including multi-window, S-Pen apps, and more. This isn’t a ROM for everyone but for those of you tinkers who must be on the bleeding edge of Android.

My favorite features of this ROM include the notification bar at the bottom (which is quite refreshing), expanded desktop (allows you to use ALL of your screen and easy to toggle back and forth with the Power button), and of course all of AOKP ROM Control, ParanoidAndroid Phone/Tablet settings, CM10 features, and some more.

If this is something that interests you, try it out for your AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 and do let me know what you think!

Hey is this rom version compatible with the tmobile note 2 or is there a specific version of jellybam?

    • Jose Paolo Tolosa says:

Nevermind read the xda forum and it says it works. Flashed it and noticed that you cannot share via WiFi direct on this ROM.

  2. matt says:

The phone function with this rom is insane. About 5 times a day I have to reboot my phone because people cant hear me or my speaker switchs between the ear piece and speaker on its own and sounds like crap. Has there been any other problems like this. I love the rom but it leaves my phone kinda unfunctional.

GPS Problems? Accuweather and other various apps not getting a GPS fix, any thoughts or am I missing something?

If this is like other 4.1.2 roms, you sometimes have to go to the GPS sources in Settings and choose Internal.

  5. Dan says:

I did that, tried resetting and re-installing. No luck. Tried switching GPS settings and still nothing. But I appreciate the reply. Thank you.

  6. Ethan says:

Bring this rom to tmobile someone please!

Okay maybe I’m slow…I’m definitely new to Android and this is the first time I’ve ever tried to root any device.

    I have a galaxy note 2, running 4.1.2.

I’m trying to root it, then MAYBE install a custom rom. I want to root it really so that I can get free apps…but that’s beside the point.

What I need to know, is whether or not there exist a way to root my device, running 4.1.2, using my Macbook. I’ve been looking for the solution, but I feel like it’s available but I’m overlooking it.

    Any advice?

    • Inuus says:

I don’t think you’re slow. I’m coming up empty as well. Look like there was a 4.1.1 method for mac using Heimdall but from the looks of the comments on the site, it doesn’t look like there is a solution with mac for 4.1.2 :( but if you can prove me wrong please do!

  9. Lindsay Pollard says:

Is this and the other jellybam updated 7.4 good for atts sgh-i317 note 2?

    • Ben says:

Use this link to get the 7.5 update for SGH-i317 or SGH-i317/M, It’s a lot more stable

  10. Ben says:

For anyone who is getting Error 7 (Section 7), you have the older version of CWM, you need to install ROM Manager, update CWM to the latest version then install and it works fine. This is also out of date, the new version of JellyBAM is 7.5 and uses AOSP 4.2.2 and it has it’s own versions for different models now rather then all in one, and international they used 4 different builds which you can find on their site.
