For this week’s ROM of the week for AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317, check out the JellyThunder “BlackOut” ROM.
JellyThunder ROM comes with Bravia Engine 2 (For better photos/videos), Visual Voicemail, transparent multi-window with Multi-window control app, Perseus kernel (overclock up to 1.8Ghz), Xposed framework (ParanoidAndroid-like feature, change apps to Phone/Tablet mode), working Google Wallet (sign in to Google after installing ROM, run Google Wallet app once, then update the app in Play Store), Android 4.2.1 GMail, inverted Google Talk, ink color changer for lockscreen, performance/battery tweaks, and some more.
This ROM is awfully similar to Jedi X ROM except you get the additional Google Wallet and “blacked out” theme. Also, the ROM comes with Xposed Framework and Xposed App Settings, you can see video tutorial at bottom of this page on how to set that up.
If you are looking for a highly-themed ROM or want to use Google Wallet on your phone, give this ROM a try and let me know what you think!

is this 4.1.2 or 4.2.1 based?
this is TouchWiz 4.1.2 based.
For this ROM, do we have to flash gapps as well, or just the ROM
Just the rom!
Sweet. Downloading. Will flash as soon as finished. This is the ROM ive been waiting for.
Hey Max,
Thank you very much for the awesome work you are doing. I recently bought a new Note 2 SGH-I317 from AT&T when I was in US, now using it in India. Unlocked it using the tutorial you posted (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYzYNjakkhE). It works absolutely fantastic. Can’t thank you enough.
I have a couple of questions before I explore the phone a little more:
1. If I root it (using your tutorials) will it get network locked again, if yes will I still be able to unlock it using the procedure I listed above.
2. Its currently running on Android 4.1.1, can I install a custom rom & upgrade to 4.1.2 or maybe higher also If there a favorite ROM of yours for Note 2 kindly suggest.
3. Anything else I need to know before I mess around.
Thank you,

Loving this rom,,,,,where can I get updates as they come available and can I put the s-voice zip on it?
So I can only install google wallet when I install the rom?
Google wallet isnt available in my country (Canada, Ontario) can I still update it in the play store?
So I reinstalled the rom set up my information but how do I use it now.
Yo Max loving your ROM reviews, been following you since I had my HTC Evo lol. Switched to AT&T and phones are way better, anyway bro keep up the GREAT WORK! This ROM I’ve been using for 2 days now, overclocked to 1704 MHz and I see no difference in battery life. In 8 hours of use i was done to 78% battery life left
It is good. No issue as yet. Clean installation. Good work. Thanks.
Is there a way to get rid of the theme… I love the ROM, but hate the theme. Its too much, I prefer a simpler look, like standard touchwiz or my fav, nova launcher
Issues when signing in youtube app help please!!!
Hi Max,
Dude you rock! I had my AT&T Galaxy Note 2 for almost 2 months now and i’ve already installed different ROMS. I am currently running JellyThunder. It has been near flawless. My WiFi tethering was a smooth transition. I would like to upgrade to a 4.2.2 ROM, but i’m waiting for you to fall off your seat in excitement, before I upgrade lol. Any ideas on how i can get the native voice command feature working off of JellyThunder?
Snote not working for me.. anybody know how fix that?
