Whompasaurus ROM for Sprint Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900!

Click on Play button above or Click Here to Download High-Quality HD video to your Smartphone or Computer.

This video was brought to you by AndroidRoot.org. Click Here to See at AndroidRoot.org

For the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900, check out Whompasaurus ROM, “an ultra smooth, rock stable, and tweaked out stock rom offering great battery life, endless options, and putting the installation of the rom in the control of the user,” according to the developer of this ROM, XDA user evolutioncsr.

Upon installing with AROMA graphical installer (you can see the options in the video overview above), you will find a choice of different TouchWiz launchers (my favorite being the 5×6 TouchWiz launcher with scrolling wallpaper), color options for your toggles and drop down bar, and choice of kernels. For kernels, my recommendation is Perseus kernel and overclock it to 1.8Ghz.

Other notable features include 23 toggles, call recording, camera enabled while in call/low battery, multi-window enabled for all apps, Awesome Beats, Light Manager (for customizing LED notifications), hacked Wifi Tether, and more.

This ROM comes loaded with features you would want including Android 4.2 Photo Sphere camera and Note 2 camera, I don’t see how you can go wrong with such a ROM.

So, if this is something you are interested, give it a go this weekend and let me know what you think! (but I think you like it already)

it does not matter whether I use this new ROM, macks rom, blazer ROM or 1 other 1 I can’t remember the name off the top of my head. But the messaging does not work and I cannot figure out why? The only custom ROM where the messaging on my Sprint Galaxy Note 2 works on is the h2o. What’s up with that? I like the h2o ROM very much but I like other rhymes to but not at the expense of my primary form of communication. Would you please be so kind as to enlighten me?

  2. So no comment on this very important topic yet? That sucks

  3. phillip says:

I have been using the rom for a few days now and everything works perfect for me, I really actually enjoy this ROM, it is simple yet effective. Everything you would want to do with a ROM is available with not a lot of other Goddy features.

  4. Joe says:

Had this rom for a couple days now, everything is working great, haven’t run into an issues so far. Only problem I had was with the Google Play Store not downloading any of my updates or any apps, but that was solved by clearing the apps data through the application manager. The features work as described, pretty happy with it so far.

    • mark says:

I had run into the same problem with the play store as well as another issue which were easily fixed but the messaging i am hoping will be fixed by backing up my system with the messaging back up and restore disabled

  5. caleb says:

I have tried H20, Macks and now Whompasaurus. I loved H20 a lot but, Whompasaurus is my favorite since I’m coming from a Nexus S. I missed the clean OS the my Nexus had. So glad I can have the hardware like the note and give that clean look. At first I thought the messaging app didn’t work but I just made a new icon and took me right in. So far so good, overclocked at 1.8ghz.

    • mark says:

sorry if i seem a little slow but how exactly did you make a new icon?

      • caleb says:

Sorry, just tap and hold your messaging app to your dock that will replace your current messaging icon that didn’t work. Worked for me. Sorry for my english.

    • tony says:

You need to wipe clean the old rom.

      • mark says:

okay so I did a factory data reset then reinstalled the ROM and the messaging works now and I have spent a buttload of time reconfiguring my apps but I’ve been wondering if there’s anyway to avoid the extra reconfiguration steps? all of my applications previously installed are backed up by Google but she figuring my home screen configuration as well as the additional data downloads are so time consuming it’s quite annoying

  6. mark says:

please help I hate having to use google voice and press 1 just to answer a damn call and i just plain like the native messaging app and cannot find out how to fix the issue.

  7. hugo says:

Been using this Rom for a few days now. It is a good Rom only issue i had was that for the first few days it would freeze a lot and i would not be able to reset the phone with out taking out the battery. I found out that it was because i had the auto rotated screen on an when ever it auto rotate it would freeze. So i switched it off and it has been working fine ever since.

    • if you created a backup file of your previous ROM ormade changes to your own last while afterwards installing rom again that’s what’s causing the glitch because it should not do that. Try backing up your current ROM, reboot into recovery mode, then once in recovery mode make sure to re install the ROM over again

  8. tony says:

To get messaging to work I format and clean install the rom.
you can’t install this rom over the oldone..

  9. evoplug says:

how do you flash this rom it is not a zip file???????

  10. Raul says:

Anybody else having problems with wifi tether shutting down its been do that on all my jeallybean roms except for cm 10. And I have tried every android wifi version and I have place the settings every witch way. I have two roms one for daily use and cm10 is just for tethering , cm 10 is not that stable yet.

  11. Michael says:

I can’t seem to get the multi window to work. When I long press on the back button nothing happens. I love that feature, what do I need to do to make it work?

    • EvoPlug says:

Make sure you are at the home screen when holding that back button. If that doesn’t work re flash the rom.

      • Michael says:

I did factory reset. cleared both cashe then reinstalled. All is fine now, i have multi window. Now if someone can figure out how to fix the low volume I’m getting between my jabra extreme 2 and my note 2, I’ll have the perfect android… until Samsung comes out with something else.

        • EvoPlug says:

Did you select to install beats when flashed it ? It should have gave you the option to do so. In your settings you should see a beats option. You can amp up your sound there.

          • Michael says:

Yeah, beats is installed. I made some adjustments but none of them increased the Bluetooth volume on my jabra extreme. I bought another one thinking this one might be defective but got same result. Been following some threads on xda, seems like I’m not only one having this problem.

  12. sergio says:

i like it but i have a problem i have an extra home button so i have my original 3 note 2 bottons and then on screen i have another 3 how to take them out ?

    • Raul says:

Press menu then edit page then hold and drag the screens yiu dont want. Hope this helps.

      • sergio says:

thanks it really help but now i have another problem can u please tell me how to take out the spelling correction ?? when im on face book it just make me write other things

        • Raul says:

Im not sure. Try This go into menu/settings/input language. You can choose a different tye off input method or keyboard. Hope thus helps..

  13. Mark says:

Nice ROM full of features, but it’s an aesthetically ugly looking ROM.

  14. EvoPlug says:

Settings, keyboard and input, then hit the settings button on the keyboard you wish to change then there should be an option to take predictive text off.

    Gtalk~ EvoPlug add me

  15. willie shaw says:

Does it still have the s pen function and also the s note features?

  16. John says:

Had some problems with the play store. this rom is a lot better if you install macks rom 4.0 and whompasaurus right over it just for the drop down menu colors

  17. Joe says:

Having problems after reinstalling apps now it will not boot. The Whomp screen displays then only a black screen will not boot into the OS.

  18. AJ Flores says:

    The best rom ever…
    (loving the photosphere pics)
I always record video going to work from home and vice versa or everywhere I go. I even have a video when I crashed against a suburban and I was using a Samsung Galaxy S II back then but now with this rom in my Note II I can see the navigation and JB camera at the same time with multi-windows… Not even the new roms posted here of Max (the boss lol) are that cool.

  19. Luis says:

@Sergio: When you are flashing the Rom and installing preferences make sure not to select an option where ON SCREEN buttons is enabled or else it will disable your phones original buttons. Had this problem, so I just re-flashed and installed again. Just take note of that little detail and you should be fine.

  20. eric says:

I tried quite a few ROMS before installing Whompasaurus. I like Macksrom alot but I like Whompasaurus much better. I like the ARoma feature. I just installed the bare minimum. This ROm runs as smooth as an AOKP or Cyanogen ROM, (which are basically the same) Kudos to the Dev…you did a great job

  21. buggyman says:

im having a bad problem…..i rooted then tried flashing liquid smooth but i only flashed 1 part of the 2 so i got stuck in a bootloop. then i tried wiping the rom (another mistake) tried reflashing with odin but thats not working and i cant get bak into recovery mode now cuz i must have pulled the usb cord out too early on odin even tho it had already said it failed!!!! can any 1 please help me out??????

  22. buggyman says:

@Raul where can i get dat file from?
@Mark Schotten yes i was rooted b4 this occured

  23. Reggie Gamble says:

Have anyone had problems sending Pic messages. People keep telling they aren’t getting them from me while on this Rom…As well they said they hear an Echo when they talk to me… Any suggestions

    • Terry Lee says:

I, as well, am unable to send or receive MMS. I have had no response at XDA about it. It is like I didn’t post anything at all, which is unusual on XDA. Am I missing something simple? There is nothing about MMS issues on the XDA forum that I could find.

      • I had that same exact problem where my messaging wouldn’t work. Just do a factory data Reset then install the rom clean and go from t there. It’ll work after that.

        • Terry Lee says:

I did a wipe-the-heck-out-of-everything install and I still cannot send or recieve. Are you using the Perseus or stock kernel?

          • I don’t use this rom anymore. I had too many little issues with it that were annoying so I switched to lab rats from by team nocturnal. Check out the videos and switch to that. All the best of macks yet way more and no issues that don’t have self fixing development built in.

      • Or go check out team nocturnal lab rats rom. You can get install instructions here or if you check out my YouTube channel I’ve got some other stuff you can try and coming from someone who formerly used whomp as my favorite rom trust me when I say it’s way better in every way

        • Terry Lee says:

I have the Lab Rats loaded up and ready. Being an old school Pinky and the Brain fan, I could not help myself. I will give her a try…Time to nandroid :) Thanks.

          • Yeah now What’s Even better is installing lab rats then without making any changes or wipes (except dalvik and Cache) install Macks all star 3.2 then add 3.3 zip and Whoa! You got yourself a macks lab rats super battery life incredibly fast rom. Plus the Samsung native account apps work too.

  24. lbagley112 says:

I love this ROM but the issue I have is it eats battery life. I have tried setting up 3G service to stop when locked and turned off wifi. when it is locked and not used it only used 6% battery life but if I use it on wifi or 3g for basic surfing it used 27% battery life in 1 hour. I have tried all the other ROMs on this site and this is by far my favorite. So if anyone can give me tips on saving some juice I would greatly appreciate it.

  25. alanna says:

have you heard anything about the ENERGY BEAN 2.0 rom for the note 2?

  26. YamXavier says:

Does this Rom have USB Tether?

  27. I had that same exact problem where my messaging wouldn’t work. Just do a factory data Reset then install the rom clean and go from t there. It’ll work after that.

  28. mark says:

try doing a wipe of the internal storage.

  29. Coffeeclue says:

I like this ROM, but have 2 problems. One is that the Samsung keyboard does not remember new custom words. Second is that Google Wallet doesn’t work. Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
