AICP ROM for Galaxy Note 2! [AT&T/T-Mobile/GT-N7105/Sprint/Verizon/Canadian]

For this week’s ROM of the Week, also check out AICP ROM, available for AT&T, T-Mobile, GT-N7105, Sprint, Verizon, and Canadian Note 2.  (Sprint users, your 4G LTE signal may be lower on AOSP ROMs, so don’t install unless you can handle that.)

Based on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat, AICP ROM is an AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) that brings you lots of customization, performance, and battery life.

Inside AICP ROM, you will find the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat AOKP ROM Control Settings along with more extras so you can tweak your ROM further.

AICP extras (inside Settings) consist of HALO, OmniSwitch, custom system animations, slider shortcuts, Active Display, custom tile colors, Appbar, Gesture Anywhere, Connection Manager, Kernel Tweaker, LCD Density, and some more.

If you want some extra performance, I do highly also suggest installing AGNi kernel along with the ROM, which gives you some great additional CPU/GPU overclocking powers and even without overclocking, the ROM is super-fast with this custom kernel.

Overall, AICP ROM is an excellent choice for those of you who want the best of the latest AOSP so give it a go if this sounds like your cup of tea and do let me know what you think!

Download AICP ROM for Galaxy Note 2 (for AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, Canadian, and GT-N7105)  *NOTE – DO NOT INSTALL ON GT-N7100 YOU WILL HARD BRICK!!!

Download Android 4.4.2 Gapps

Download Camera FixCredits

Optional: Download AGNi Kernel for Galaxy Note 2 (For AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, GT-N7105, and Canadian) – Credits

BEFORE INSTALLING, UPGRADE your CWM Recovery to v6.0.4.3 or higher using ROM Manager App from the Play Store.  Also if using TWRP, use Goo Manager app to update to v2.6.3.3 or higher.  Otherwise you will FAIL during install!  You can also install CWM Recovery manually here.

To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, install Camera Fix, (optional) install kernel and reboot.   (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop, reboot into recovery, go to Advanced Wipe for TWRP or Mounts & Storage for CWM, format/wipe /system, then re-install ROM.)

I recently downloaded eZKAT Beta 4.4.2 Rom onto my Note 2 i317. I haven’t had any issue with this custom rom and it runs smooth. The one thing it lacks is Air Command. Is there any way to add Air Command by itself or do I need to install a different Rom?

Your response will be greatly appreciated!

    Thank You!

Typically for things like Air Command, AllShare, SNote (I could be wrong) are packaged in with the custom ROM. You might be able to add certain features by way of Xposed but the easiest bet is finding a rom with the feature. You could also contact the dev team of the ROM and suggest it being added (?)

    Hi there,

I’ve been a follower of your site for almost 18 months now and have never once regretted trying out a ROM recommended here, but I just installed this version of AICP and it really screwed me over!

I was careful to make full backups with Titanium Backup Pro and my SMS program but seem to have lost everything after flashing this ROM. Also my internal SD card’s storage seems to have been severely limited, to just over 2 gigabytes. When I go into Storage under settings it tells me that the card still has a total space of 11.07 GB with with 1.09 GB of space available, but the used data categories (Apps, Pictures, Downloads, Misc, etc.) only add up to 1.18 GB! Then when I go into the partitions listing, it tells me that 9.98 GB of space are being taken up by a partition labelled “/sdcard (FAT)”. It’s my belief that all my missing data is likely in that partition!

I’ve had no luck at all accessing the partition. Flashing this ROM also broke my Note 2’s ability to work with any of the USB mass storage apps that I can find, and I can’t navigate into the partition through ES File Explorer or the WiFi based file explorers I’ve tried. My backup programs also seem unable to access the partition. I’ve spent the last five hours trying to figure out how to get to my data to no avail. I’m usually pretty good at figuring technical things out on my own, but I wouldn’t be asking here if I wasn’t at my wit’s end and coming up empty on all my Google searches. I need advice for what to try next!

Please help me recover my last few years’ apps and SMS!!

U can access the files with the app ” root browser”. I then suggest that u share the files toa google drive account or dropbox. I say share it because i tried copying and moving and it just corrupted the files. I hope this helps. Be careful though..and check the dates. Because the old files and the new ones are kind of stored in the same folders, be sure to check the dates. I assume you’ll delete after you’re done because you want to free up some space again. Hope this helps. I did it this morning and freed up about 8gigs.

Hi, I am in the process of installing this ROM, in the about phone section however, it shows like the device model is GTn7105 but I have a Verizon i605; is this supposed to be the case? So far, I have not messed around with it much to discover errors, phone and wifi seems fine for now. Thanks!

  4. JBCool says:

So far is all OK. But I have couple problems. One is that no led shows up. Like charging, charged, massages and others. And battery charge is kind of slower.

    • Junot says:

LED: you have to set everything to normal, and don’t use custom LED setting.
Battery: choose the extreme battery saving profile in AGNi control and there is a setting for faster charge there too, but I haven’t used it.

im doing the install and was wondering how long does it stay on the aicp screen with the white android icon its been like this for 15 min did i do something wrong

  6. jumbjumb says:

It does not work. I’m stuck at the booting screen for hours and I wipe everything and it’s still the same results.
I went to the official site and tried the latest one and it doesn’t work altogether.
I’m very dissatisfied with this and sleep deprived cause of this.

    • Bryton Guernsey says:

Try doing a factory data reset from within twrp or cwm, that normaly fixes bootloops for me.

    • Bryton Guernsey says:

Also if you had made a backup of your previous rom like any somewhat expirienced person does the it not working should not be a problem

  7. Peter Wu says:

Installed it yesterday and ran well for a few hours. Then the phone started to get very warm and drained the battery. I lowered the CPU frequency to 1400 and was still running warm.

  8. Junot says:

Hey, I absolutely love this rom! Thanks for your awesome site and amazing videos.

I can’t figure out how to add more screens to the home screen when I swipe left or right. At the moment I only have one. Where is the setting? Thanks!

    • JBCool says:

It will add it more when it will run out of room. Plus when I add an app from Play Store it add to second screen even my first screen is not filled up yet.

I have attempted to install this rom 4 times now and on the last attempt i noticed it showed my GT-N7105 but i have the sprint SPH-L900. Every attempt at the install has ended the same way, it shows the ghist android with AICP on it but will not go past that point. I even went to the point of restoring my phone to a previous backup, removed the initially downloaded files and re downloaded them to try again thinking this could be the solution but it did not solve the problem. Any advice would be much appreciated but i guess for now i will have to use a different ROM.

Having issues with the Phone. Get 4G internet but no phone signal on Verizon i605. Says “mobile network unavailable” Everything else works well. Pulled battery, Factory reset, Restored old rom wiped and tried again, Cleared cache, Dalvik, Enabled roaming and national roaming. What can I do here??

  12. James says:

Draining too much battery, phone calls are too low, plus the screen won’t goes off when getting close to your face. Sometimes it unlocks in your pocket.

  13. James C. says:

I have a i605 Note 2 for Verizon. I downloaded/installed all the files from your steps. I tested everything, and everything works fine except (which unfortunately I didn’t test till last)….

I can’t make/recieve phone calls. Im getting a Mobile Network Not Available message.

About Phone lists me as having a GT-N7105 for the Model, with a I605VRAMC3 Baseband Version. I noticed that the rom zip is in your 7105 Roms folder. Is there a seperat i605 rom? If so, where can I obtain it. If not, how do I change my set model?

I like this Rom, but need access to the phone.

    • David D says:

I’m experiencing the same thing. Installed last night, and I get 4G internet but no mobile network no matter what I tried. Really annoying because overall it looked like a very slick rom, but rather useless if I can’t make calls/texts. Maybe there will be a fix soon.

  14. macklove says:

Thank you so much for this super fast rom but i do have one issue i was wondering how can i make phone calls louder ( with a mic the sound is terribly low it’s not usable ). Also i would like a tip/fix for why is my battery going at 40c its kinda hot using zerolemon i have the same agni control settings as you.

  15. SSolomon says:

After ezkat installation on i317 note 2 I am unable to turn on wifi, my baseband version i317ucubmk6. How can I fix it? Thanks

  16. Ro says:

Keep getting “Unfortunately, AICP OTA has stopped” What is this? How to fix?

    • compudad77 says:

I agree. Ever since I installed this ROM I have been getting notice that ota has stopped or crashed. So I’m still on the first install of this ROM. Several APS force close and won’t work.

      • Max Lee says:

You need to format /system and reinstall ROM when this happens. You may have to do it 2 or 3 times sometimes but it will eventually go away.

  17. Flavius says:

hy a version of this rom for note 2 e250s were i

  18. Rampant says:

I would love to try this ROM with the AGNi kernel. I was using newest CM rom on my Sprint Note 2 but the in-call volume for both the regular front speaker and the speakerphone were way too quiet that I had to switch to a random TouchWiz rom to get it to normal since I work in loud environments and have to use my phone quite a bit.
If someone that has a Sprint phone and this ROM let me know if the in-call volume is fine or if it may be an AOSP issue in general, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

  19. Mike Main says:

Can any one tell me why I can’t get any signal on these newer roms. I updated my twrp. Installed gapps and the roms install fine but I can’t get no service on them.its a sprint note 2 and I did download the correct file for sprint. Had to go back to venium ice.
