For those of you who were bummed out last week that CM10.2 Android 4.3 ROM was only available for GT-N7100, we have some good news for you this week. It’s now available for the rest of the devices like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, Canadian, and GT-N7105 Note 2s thanks to the hard-working developers (don’t forget to donate to them!).

I was rather surprised to find that these early CM10.2 builds are pretty stable with everything working out of the box.

The only bugs I encountered was with the stock camera for still photos (which will force close) but you can use CM10.2 Focal camera instead which works flawless except the PicSphere mode. You should be able to get PhotoSphere working easily though by installing Android 4.3 camera.  (Also see Focal Camera demo here.)

Overall, CM10.2 experience on the Note 2 for these variants is pretty pleasant, bringing you most of the Android 4.3 features along with DSP Manager and additional CyanogenMod customization.

If you are looking to experience Android 4.3 today (and not have to wait until Samsung updates), definitely give the latest CM10.2 builds a try this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

For GT-N7100, see here instead.

Download Gapps

To install, reboot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, and reboot.

You can fix broken Google Now search by updating “Google Search” app on Play Store.

No root?  See How to Enable Root on CM10.2!

You can get the latest Android 4.3 Photosphere camera here.

For camera still shots, use the Focal app instead of the camera app (as the regular camera is broken).  But video recording, PhotoSphere works fine.

  2. D says:

Hey thx for the update before I go does this rom support 64g memory card & does it support multi window? If not how do I get my 64 g memory card to work. I’ve noticed must of the 4.2 roms don’t support 64g memory cd either. Please help thanks in advance.

  3. Bradley says:

Verizon Rom isn’t booting up after flashing. have waited 15+ minutes both times i’ve flashed the rom. I’ll continue to try it out until i can get it flashed properly.

  4. Rodney Joseph says:

Had to go back to cm10.1 I flashed it and lost superuser

    • sean m says:

i experienced the same thing but if you go into the Play Store and just download superuser su.. you will get root permissions back and all your apps will have root permissions including titanium backup to restore your apps

  5. Rodney Joseph says:

Dear Max this ROM took my superuser away so I had to go back to cm10.1 nightly I don’t have any problems with it.

  6. Richard says:

This ROM has an option to increase volume other than just the volume settings in sound. It is in the advanced section in settings. At 94% my speaker is just as loud as touch wiz

  7. eric says:

As long as CM doesn’t have 4G on Sprint Samsung Note 2 it a useless ROM. Garbage!

    • Will says:

I completely agree the rom itself is wonderful but unless you have 4g internet you cant get into the play store to download apps or use and internet based apps which sucks…

  8. DMACK says:

Flashed the rom but AOSP keyboard keeps crashing… Is there a fix for this bug?

  9. Jeff says:

Flashed it and it ran fine. However, my sound crapped out after switching between YouTube videos. I closed and restarted the app and the sound was gone. Even tried playing music and still nothing. Had to reboot to get my sound back. This won’t work because I stream music and YouTube constantly. Had to revert back to stock. One day, I’ll find a rom on this site that isn’t plagued with bugs

    • eric says:

CM is a crappy ROM. They onl focus on Nexus devices and give very little support to the other phones

      • Jeff says:

I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s a crappy ROM. I dig the layout. It’s a well put together ROM…..when it works. I ran it flawlessly on my old Moto Cliq. But lately, there seems to be a lack of stable versions for flagship devices. I get tired of Touch Wiz’s cartoonish layout and want something a little more refined. I know, I know, “Then you should’ve bought a nexus blah blah blah”. Sure I could’ve, but I like having a massive screen. Perhaps it’s some inferiority complex manifestation.

  10. Will says:

    2 things I’ve noticed….

1- the screen goes black or acts strange anytime an ad pops up. Luckily this isn’t a big deal for me because I have AdAway, but I’m sure it is probably a cause for a lot of the problems above me in this thread.

2- The phone wakes up constantly. Within a minute of going to sleep, it wakes up again. Sometimes les than 30 seconds. It’s killing my battery and will be why I go back to Jedi X. Please fix.

  11. Paul Beckett says:

Lost root with 4.3 and then was unable to reroot with odin so gone back to 10.2 for now.

    • Paul Beckett says:

Ha! Just read the extra notes that you wrote Max on fixing superuser! Reflashed 4.3 and now working great.

  12. john says:

If your having any problems just flash gapps for 4.3 it fixed most of mine

  13. paul beckett says:

You need to use the updated Google apps rom which Max has included the link for below cm link

  14. paul beckett says:

My home button, notifications and shortcut tiles all stopped working. Tried changing lots of settings but no fix. Also had to keep giving root apps superuser permission even after clicking option to set forever. Reluctantly gone back to cm 4.2.2

  15. Jeff says:

I would use the term “stable” in the description very loosely. It’s just a nightly and sadly it has more bugs than a times square hooker. I’ve always had the same issues with all CM Roms so it’s probably best to stay away until they actually release a stable version.

  16. hai says:

I couldn’t enable super user plz fix

    • Rodney Joseph says:

      Goto settings-about phone-build number.
Tap build number until it says you are a developer
Then goto developer options-root access-check apps and adb that will give you superuser.

  17. Rodney Joseph says:

I reflashed cm10.2 ROM the latest update and the GPS is now working pretty good. Great fix.

  18. Nate Barnett says:

tried flashing, but it just keeps telling me installation aborted.

  19. Rfein says:

Almost everything is going well, but I can’t go to Google Play Store app, it says “no connection”… But the Internet is going very well!!
Anyone knows how to change it?

    Thanks a lot

    • Rodney Joseph says:

      Did you flash g-apps 4.3
If not reflash ROM and g-apps

    • DMack says:

Were you able to keep wifi calling? I lost wifi calling when I flashed 4.3

      • Ross G says:

I like how no one has answered his question. I have the same issue, I do not have my wifi calling. It’s one of the reasons I switch to T Mobile. Can we please get the features back. Also, would be nice to know when actually on LTE. Since there are two types of 4G out there. Also, how do we change the model number in the wrong? Since I have a t-mobile version, its not displaying that I am using my t mobile phone. It prevents me from downloading certain apps

  20. DMack says:

how do you keep the wifi calling and mms feature? I always lose wifi calling and mms when flashing Cyanogenmod AOSP or AOKP roms?

  21. AmazingFukrPants says:

    Follow this link

check the instructions to get MMS working. This rom has everything working. 4G/GPS /MMS. It’s a great rom

  22. Kevin Lincoln says:

I flashed this ROM and although it has some good features it is in no way a stable ROM. S-Pen functionality is totally non existent with this ROM and my 65GB SD card was not recognized (also when I flashed back to stock my card experienced issues where the card could not be read) I had to delete the contents (over 32GB of information) and reformat to get the card to be recognized again. Like I said this ROM has some good features but it is still a long way from being your everyday ROM.

    • Eric C says:

If this ever happens again – or to anyone else in this position – simply put the card in a Windows PC card reader, open a dos/command window, and type “chkdsk x: /R” where x: is the letter of the drive. It’s an instant repair, and it will make the card readable on the PC and in the phone.

  23. Safaa Aswad says:

it doesn’t work on my gt-n7100 international , it said bad install from CWM

  24. Carlos says:

    keyboard crashed..

  25. James says:

the newest nightly build doesn’t have much bugs its good. i went back to stock because i lost a lot of internal storage when i put it on. how come and how can i fix it?

    • Reed says:

Did you have any issues getting the play store to open?

      • James says:

nope. it works really good. i haven’t found no bugs yet. and i put CM10.2 back on and the internal storage was fine. i must of forgot to clean it all. i wish they had some feature on carbon Rom on it. but its good

  26. Reed says:

Thanks for the reply man. I may try it again. I’m really digging Carbon though. They just updated to 4.3.1

  27. Dustin d says:

After updating to cm10.2 I lost root and turning it on in the dev options didn’t work. Superuser says there’s no su binary and my recovery isn’t working so I can not flash back to previous backups. Anyone know how to fix?

  28. This rom is compatible for korean note2 shv-e250k with sj kernal or not?
