For this week’s ROM of the week, check out SOKP ROM for Galaxy Note 2, available for AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, Canadian, GT-N7105, and GT-N7100.
Based on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat, SOKP ROM for Galaxy Note 2 brings you a ton of customization and features including multi-window, floating multi-window (experimental), and more.
SOKP ROM brings you many AOSP customization/features you are used to on other AOSP ROMs together such as HALO floating notifications (which can be turned into floating multi-window), lockscreen notifications (my favorite), Active Display, Gesture Navigation/Anywhere, PIE Controls, and much more.
Although some of the newer features like floating multi-window are still beta and experimental, there’s enough customization on this ROM to keep your phone just the way you wanted, even if you don’t use every one of them.
Also, if you want additional performance and more out of your Note 2, try the AGNi kernel along with the ROM, you can get overclocking up to 2Ghz. (although I only recommend up to 1.8Ghz most) AGNi kernel comes with its own AGNi Control app that lets you fully control your CPU/GPU voltage, undervolt, tweak sound, and more.
If you are looking for a good AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) that gives you a good level of customization with the latest features, definitely give SOKP ROM a try this week(end) and do let me know what you think!
Download SOKP ROM for Galaxy Note 2 (For AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, GT-N7105, and Canadian) Sorry, link fixed!
BEFORE INSTALLING, UPGRADE your CWM Recovery to v18.104.22.168 or higher using ROM Manager App from the Play Store. Also if using TWRP, use Goo Manager app to update to v22.214.171.124 or higher. Otherwise you will FAIL during install! You can also install CWM Recovery manually here.
To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, (optional) install kernel and reboot. (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop, reboot into recovery, go to Advanced Wipe for TWRP or Mounts & Storage for CWM, format/wipe /system, then re-install ROM.)
