For this week’s Sprint Note 2 ROM of the week, check out highly-themed Swamp Monster ROM from Team Venum.

Based on Sprint Android 4.1.2 TouchWiz base, the Swamp Monster brings you a custom theme loaded with lots of orange, green, and black.

Swamp Monster ROM ships with Perseus kernel and I do recommend around 1.8Ghz CPU and 733Mhz GPU overclocking for daily driving.

You will also find many inverted apps like GMail, E-Mail, Google Music Player, YouTube, and some more.

The ROM also comes with Blu Kuban updater which allows you to customize and install more mods like change your Drop Pull-down graphics or even change the theme. Multi-window is enabled for all apps by default, just install new apps and it will show up in your flash bar.

You can also get two cameras by installing PhotoSphere zip file.

Call recording is also available on this ROM, use ES File Explorer, enable Root, then go to /data/apps and install com.grinzone.incallrecorder-1.apk. (See video if you don’t get this part.)

If you are looking for a fresh ROM, try it out this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

P.S. No wipe required if coming from TouchWiz-based ROM but please make a backup ROM just in case.

Do u have music player ?

      • Jim says:

Yes, the one with the “Headphones” as the icon. Works OK. None of the other music apps are available but I don’t use them.

        • Jim says:

Found the answer to your question… NO I did not keep the MUSICPLAYER app after flashing the ROM. I did get PlayMusic to reload after syncing with dropbox.
Sorry I’m so slow in getting back to you…. I just restored my last Nandroid Backup to the Stock Rom…. I will try to re-flash the Rom over the weekend. Best of luck getting your music back !!!

      • The Androidy says:

if you get the music player doesn’t work properly, just download the third party music player app from google play store

      • Richard says:

Try NRG Player. Its a great player, and the widget is awsome. And you can get the pro version for free if you download the BLACKMART ALPHA app. Just do a google search and youll find a link. Once in the blackmart app store, download nrg trial version 1st, install it. Then install nrg unlocker, and voila! Your set. Enjoy and good luck.

How do i get my RINGTONES list back??? I clicked on something in the KUBAN UPDATER and now when i try to get or change a ringtone I get the ES File Explorer. I don’t know where the ringtones are and while trying to back out of the settings I somehow deleted the Kunan Updater… Anyone have any ideas ???

  5. Jon says:

@Jim – Check to see if its not hidden. If you did delete it you may have no other choice but to do a reload.

So far so good. Wiped Cache/Dalvik/Data(Factory reset) and then installed 2.2 as per instructions on XDA. Looks good so far, I’ll test it through the weekend. Coming from Macks All-Star ROM this is a visual change but I’m looking forward to testing it out.

    • Jim says:

Thanks for the help !! I’m going to reload everything over the weekend and start over… and be more careful with the “DELETE” button !!! Thanks again !

I just want to start by saying keep up the good work with these weekly rom reviews. I have learned so much from them. As far as this rom I came from Macks all-star rom 3.5 what an awesome rom that it is. It has been my daily driver for sometime now. I tried this rom and it just doesn’t compare to Macks all-star. It was twitchy loading and I really don’t like the keyboard compared to Macks all-star. I like the customizability but not the fact that you couldn’t go back to the original easily. I’m sure with future updates this will be a nice rom.

Hey Max I love this new Rom it’s great and love it. I have one question can you do a video about the apps not able to transfer to SD. Is there a way to do that? Can you find a way around this issue? Thanks again and love all your videos.

When I previously rooted my phone after a few days the screen stopped working and when I went to unlock the screen it refused to come on. It’s funny because after I unrooted everything seemed to be working. You know what the problem could be?

  11. chad says:

Max, time for another rom review, it’s been over two weeks!

  15. B.J. says:

How good is the battery life on this rom?

  16. Jon says:

Max, have you had any issues with this rom and A2DP working? I have a sound bar that it Bluetooth A2DP compatible and I can’t seem to get any sound out of it. The Note 2 pairs and connects to it but there is no sound and the sound bar doesn’t have any control over my phone. I wasn’t sure if this Bluetooth profile was left out or if anyone else was having this issue.

  17. B.J. says:

@max ..i love this rom it is by far my favorite rom and my first custom rom that i flashed…i do have one question though and that is “how do i get my news ticker back on my lockscreen?…I have tried settings amongst other things but no luck,,
