For those of you who want to try the latest bleeding edge of Android, check out the beta version 3.50 of ParanoidAndroid ROM, which brings you “Halo” notification feature.

This ROM is currently available for AT&T, T-Mobile, and GT-N7105 variants but should be available for other Note 2s very soon.

The Halo notification feature is somewhat a multi-tasking notification feature that allows you to open apps on top of any apps (meaning your current app will run in the background). You can also download the Halo))) app from the Play Store to put any of your favorite apps on top of any apps.

For example, if you are playing a game and you receive an SMS message, you will be able to open the SMS app on top of your game app, respond to your friend, then get back onto playing games again.

Other than the new HALO feature, everything else is the same, you can see our ParanoidAndroid Hybrid Settings guide for full tutorial.

Sounds confusing? Well, you will have to try it yourself to get used to it. It’s certainly still “beta” but this seems like a great idea for multi-tasking between apps on AOSP ROMs since multi-window isn’t available.

For those of you brave and who need to try the latest Android custom ROM features, definitely try this one out and do let me know what you think!
